Whatsapp for business

Whatsapp have changed definition of communication in past few years.  We were using whatsapp for our business as well.  I wanted to know the exact difference so i installed this Application.  Frankly i didn't found any major difference in both apps but this application has some features which may be useful for SME's.   Few of the website has their own dedicated messenger, in the same way we can use this application as dedicated messenger.

Whats New?

1. You can update your profile information so that person you are chatting with can view your business profile.

2.  You can set default Away message.

3. You can set default replies

Lets explore in detail.

Installation

1. Search Whatsapp Business on google and install it

2. After installation it will show Terms and Conditions screen.  Click on Agree And Continue.

3. As other application needs permission in android, this application will ask you for same.  Click  "Allow" button.

4. Enter your business mobile number.  If you are using this number for your regular whatsapp then you cannot enter it here.  You need different number for this application.  If you have dual sim mobile then you can use another number for this application and if you don't have then you need to buy another phone and simcard.

5. Click next and after that Ok on next confirmation screen.

६. It will ask you permission to read SMS.  Click Allow.  It will not verify your number through OTP

7. On the next screen it will ask you for your business name.  Please be careful before entering as you may not be able to change afterwards.  You can also upload your profile picture from here.

    

६. During setup it will ask you for Business Name, Business Type, Location, Description of Business, Email and Website.  Enter that information and click save.

You are done with your installation now.

New Features:

1. Away Message

When you are not online, this feature will send automated message to user if tried to ping you on whatsapp.  To enable this feature, click on 3 dots on right hand side of Whatsapp Business.  Click on Settings then on Business Settings.

On Business Settings page click on Away Message.

Turn on Send Away Message   You will find one default message here.  You can change that message by clicking on pencil icon.  After setting message click on Save button on top right side.

2. Greeting Message

If you customer message you for the first time, this feature will help you to greet them with nice message.  To enable this feature click on Settings -> Business Settings -> Greetings.

 

Turn on Send Greeting Message.   Here also you may find default message which can be changed by clicking on pencil icon.  After setting message click on Save button on top right hand side.


3.  Quick Replies

Many a time, message format of replies is fixed and we need to type those messages repeatedly.  To avoid this repeatition Whatsapp Business have given this feature.  To eable click on Settings -> Business Settings -> Quick Replies

You may find one default reply for Thanks message.  You can change it anytime.  To add new reply click on + icon on the right side bottom.   After adding Message and Shortcut click on Save button on top right hand side.  You will find this new reply in Quick Replies list

Whenever your customer check your profile he will find all the business profile information entered by you.

This Application was recently launched and with basic feature.  Down the line, we may get many interesting feature with this App.
