Why Zoom Was Not Banned?

Jai Hind Dosto,

Since last evening, the Indian government has banned 59 Chinese apps in India. But "Zoom" is not there in the list. I saw many questions on social media about it. Actually Zoom is not a Chinese app. Eric Yuan, the owner of "Zoom", is of Chinese origin and has been a U.S. citizen since 2007. Eric has been in the United States since 1997.

Zoom is an American company based and headquartered in California. However, like many other companies, Zoom also has a branch office in China and Chinese people work there on their payroll.

There are many questions about the security of Zoom. If you follow the basic settings  then you will never get security concerns. E.g.,

1. If you set up a meeting with a personal ID, its password has to be changed for each meeting.

2. You must have a password for each meeting.

3. When you sign up on Zoom, sign in with Google or Facebook.

4. The "Enable Waiting Room" option should be on in every meeting.

5. Do not include the meeting password in the meeting link.

If you take basic precautions like this then there is no problem in using "Zoom".
