Now its difficult to forget password !!!

The problem that we regularly encounter is, we register across many portals on the internet and we do not log in frequently on them which results in forget passwords.  To avoid this situation, we tend to keep the same password or note it down somewhere.  But to keep the same password for the sites that do not contain sensitive information and the sites that have important information is a bit risky.

Our Important and Secure accounts :
1. Bank Account (Login and Transaction Password)
2. Personal (Only self-access) E-mail accounts
3. Social Networking Sites

Other accounts :
1. Personal (Others can access) E-mail accounts
2. Sites which needs temporary login

We keep the same password for all above accounts which is risky and can help others to steal your information.  Let's see the trick where you can keep different passwords for diferent accounts but still can remember them easily.

To keep your password strongere we need 3 things.
1. Letters (Small & Capital)
2. One or more special characters
3. Numbers

We can make the combination of all of them.  Suppose you are preparing password for yahoo account then formal would be like this,
{xyz}{@}{Yahoo}{Number}

{xyz}
Here you should use the name which has nothing to do with your life.  You must not use the name of your family members or relatives.

{@}
You can take any special character here.  For example, @ or dot or # sign.  Many of the sites do not accept question mark so its not advisable to use.

{Yahoo}
Name of the portal for which we are creating the password.  Means here I have used Yahoo.  For Facebook, you can use Fb or Facebook

{Number}
Here you can consider an important year of your life or any 4 or 6 digits number.
Please do not use your or family member's date of birth, your anniversary year.

In short, the format will look like this
sundaram#Yahoo2906 or sundaram#YAHOO2906

You can decide which letter to keep small or capital. You can decide your own format as well.  With the help of this format, your different password for different portals will look like this.

GMail : sundaram#Gmail2906
ICICI Bank : sundaram#Icici2906
HDFC Bank : sundaram#Hdfc2906
Facebook : sundaram#Facebook2906
Twitter : sundaram#Twitter2906

For the other sites which are not secured you can keep common password so that whenever you login you need not to remember password.

For few of the bank accounts, you cannot keep same password for login and transaction.  In that case, if your login password is sundaram#Icici2906  then your transaction password will be SUNDARAM#iCICI2906.  That means only the difference of small and capital letters.

I am using this technique for many years.  Passwords are different still easy to understand.

New Feature- Undo send for Whatsapp

"Ohh god...to whom i sent the message?" or "I sent the message on wrong group?", we stuck in such kind of situations often when we are using Whatsapp and we look for a chance to delete the message.  We can delete the message if its not submitted actually on Whatsapp server but if net connection is proper then generally message is delivered within fraction of seconds.

No worries from here now.  Whatsapp have launched new feature in which you can delete delivered message.  Not only from your mobile but from recipients mobile as well.

In recent version of Whatsapp (2.17.395) this option is updated.  If you don't have this version then you can update it from Play Store (For apple mobiles, download from App store).

Please follow following steps

1. When you send message to any person or group, you can delete that message within 7 minutes.  You need to press that message, and need to select delete button on right hand side.

2. You can find 3 options
 - Delete for me (This option will delete message from your mobile but not from recipient mobile)

-  Cancel (This will not perform any action)

- Delete For Everyone (This option will delete message from all the mobiles who have received your message)

3.  After deleting this message, it will keep on displaying "You deleted this message"

4. Recipient mobile will display "This message was deleted" on their mobile.

That means even if you delete this message, notification will display instead of message (But you can delete this notification as you do for normal message).  In this way you can delete sent image and video as well.

Few Important Things :
१.  Message can be deleted only within 7 minutes after sending.  You cannot delete older message whose time exceeded 7 minutes.
२. You cannot delete broadcast message.
३. In order to use this feature, recipient must have new version of Whatsapp.

We were waiting for this update and finally it's here 😊

Whatsapp Live Location Sharing

Hi,

New update of whatsapp have launched "Share Live Location" feature.   You can share your live location with specific person or group of people for specified time.    Meeting friends, concern of security of family members or if you want to share your trip with someone you can use this feature.  This feature is available for Android and IOS Both.

*How to Use ?*

१. Open specific chat or group
२. Click on attachment button on the right side of "Type a Message" box

३. Select Location and click on "Share Live Location".

४. Select specific time for which you want to share location

If you have shared your location with any group, then each member of group can view your location.

*"Send your current Location" vs "Share Live Location"?*

"Send your current Location"  is for long time in Whatsapp.  We need to know the difference between both.

In "Send your current Location"  you can select any location and send it to recipient (For eg: You can send office location by sitting at home)

But in "Share Live Location", It will send only the location where exactly you are while sending location.  You cannot change the same.

This feature will help you for sure.

Secure your mobile contacts

Hi ,

One day i received call from unknown number.  Arun sir had called me from his friend's mobile.  He told me that his mobile has been stolen.

"I am not scared for mobile but contacts.  I had all VIP contacts stored on my mobile".

"Did you sync your contacts with gmail?", Me

"Not sure yaar", he was little upset.

After few days we found his mobile but we were not able to recover his contacts.   In the new mobile, i  showed him how and where to do that setting.   But the damage done was not recoverable.

Many time while scrolling facebook news feed i find one message, "I have lost my mobile and all my mobile numbers.  Please post your numbers in comment box".  Nowadays many people are using android phones.  This article will help you to secure your contacts so that even if you lose your phone you can get all your contacts back.

As all of you know, when we initially configure our Android phone we configure it with Gmail account.  If you want to check which account you have configured, You can open playstore in mobile and click on three horizontal lines on tope left corner (Check Image 1).  Maybe your friend or known person might have helped you to configure your account but you should have password of that email.

Now if you want to secure your account please follow these steps.

1. Go to your mobile settings (image 2)

2. Check for Account Management or Accounts menu (image 3)

3.  As you can see in Image 4, check for similar google logo.

4. You will find gmail account which is configured with your mobile (This can be more than one).  Click on it (Image 5)

5.  You will find contact option, turn it on. (Image 6).

After this setting, even if you lose your mobile or you plan to change it, you can restore all your contacts easily by configuring same account in new mobile.

Enjoy !!!

Restrict mobile games from children

Hi,

We are often troubled that our children's download and play games on mobile.  Many a time those games are not suitable for their age because of inappropriate contents which could be violent or sexual.  "Blue whale" game is one of that parts. You can restrict the download of such games to your mobile and the settings are really easy.

You can do following settings if you have the Android mobile.

1. Open play store. Click on three horizontal lines on the left side of screen and click on settings

2. Click on Parental Control option under User Control section

3. It will allow you to turn on the Parental Control.  You may need to add Pin to add security for your setting.  You should choose Pin which you can remember easily but your children should not.

4. After setting Pin it will give you section of Content Restriction in which you may find Apps & Games.  It will ask you Pin to verify your authenticity.

5. Here you need to select an option above what age your children can play the game. (Every app and game on Android Play store has Age Ratings which suggests that app or game is suitable for what age range)

Eg, If you select 3+ then you will only get games or apps which are suitable for age upto 3.  If you select 7+ then you will get games and apps which are suitable for below 7 years.  You may choose your option.

6.  Click on Save.

After this setting, your children may able to search games which are suitable for his age range.

Note: This setting will not work for pre-installed games.
